A new hidden treasure...Jazz vocalist Jose James

As Im doing my usual drive to work in the am...I start my engine...and make sure to have my radio on KCRW 89.9 listening to NPR mornings are eclectic. I hear this amazing soothing jazzy soulful voice and I know I shouldn't be doing this but I hit the shazam button on my phone because I had to find out who this artist is playing on the radio...."JOSE JAMES" whoa!! I literally couldn't wait to get off from work so I could go home and buy the album...I have been hooked instantly. I begin to talk about how good his album is to a close friend and immediately she finds out he's playing in LA in 2 days...our hearts jump!! Days before the show my friends Ambra, Monica and I make sure we get familiar with the songs so when were at the show we will be following along (humming) haha...! The show was amazing and we are so eager and excited to see when he plays again in LA!! Go Jose and his band!

Take me back to Paradise.....

Its been officially one week since Ive been back from NYC. Oh, how I miss it so. This trip was not a vacation where I could shop till I dropped....But this trip was more of a spiritual one for me and my good friend along with her baby boy. Friendships were made, A Old long time friend was seen, late night conversations under the moon with my girlfriend by the east river with a carton of my favorite ice cream from ben and jerrys, Thai food to go on the rooftop overlooking all of Manhattan. Crazy sunny then windy...STORMY weather that literally washed my poor feet clean and my dress to a soaken mess!!! (Good thing we got out of there before the warning signs of Hurrican Irene stormed through!) A long but beautiful drive to Walkill and Patterson....Dinner under the Brooklyn Bridge (The River Cafe) ...Metropolitan Museum...with our other friends from LA and their family from Japan. Pumba and Timon from the Lion King play in Times Square but all in all......I LOVED IT!!!!! you don't get this kind of craziness in LA....I lacked a lot of sleep but got a lot more in memories....the more I stayed up the more I was able to enjoy my days through....I honestly hate sleep anyway! There is never enough hours in a day~ I counted everyday until it was the last day to fly back to Cali....I didn't want to leave...so instead I left the tears that I shed at JFK airport...from all the beautiful spiritual friends I made!

One of the noticeable changes for me this year was the joy of being around children. In the past I didn't have much of a tolerance for the little ones but I guess as you become older you start to gain the patience. I can honestly say that children now make my world go round. Though, I don't expect any of my own but possibly the change of attitude is from gaining the appreciation of life and also the excitement of my soon to be nephew that is approaching in the next 3 1/2 months. I left work early to be with family for a short while but little did I expect to wind up at a bbq with some close friends and their children. I love these kids....although I am around them most of the time, well I'd say twice or maybe more throughout the week. These children are the most well behaved little munchkins I've ever known. So a pool/bbq party was a definite must for these little gifts from our Creator. I am so happy they are a part of my life as well as me being in theirs!! xoxoxooxoxo......

Summer Is Here//and my Heart begins to Flutter....

This has always been my favorite season of the year. Its when you'll find me smiling most often and when you'll find me outside getting a tan (not!) but seriously this summer was much anticipated. I just can't wait until next month to experience the summer in NYC.....looking for my ticket right about now..... and GO!

I know most people talk about how magical weddings are, but I never thought it was true until I experienced it for my self. My big sister Stephanie and Patrick White tied the knot on Memorial day weekend in the beautiful city of Carmel Ca. So many beautiful locations were visited such as Big Sur, Monterey and Pebble Beach. Along with that so many beautiful friendships were made, laughters until the wee morning hours and new found loves ....The wedding changed not just my life ...but the lives of others.... so happy for the married couple!
